ThyssenKrupp Elevator has won contracts to supply 669 elevators and escalators for the extension of metro systems in Shenzhen, Wuhan and Xiamen in China.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator has received an order to supply a total of 337 escalators and 115 elevators for the extension of the metro network in the city of Shenzhen, China. The work is scheduled for completion in 2010 and involves the construction of 87.4km of new lines and 58 stops.

In the central Chinese city of Wuhan, ThyssenKrupp Elevator is installing 45 elevators and 91 escalators for the extension of metro line 1. After completion of the work in 2010 the 28km elevated line will run through the centre of the city.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator has also won a contract to supply 81 escalators for the new 'bus rapid transit' system in the city of Xiamen. The city's infrastructure project combines a metro system with bus transit and aims to alleviate Xiamen's massive traffic problems and improve the image of the coastal city.
