Job Description

Design Engineer – Braking Components - Midlands – to £40k


Our client is internationally renowned as a specialist component manufacturer to the motorsport and high performance car sector, and as a result of continued success and an aggressive program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a Senior Brake Design Engineer to become a key player within their team of similarly skilled design engineers working in a close knit environment and focused on delivering world class products to demanding timescales.

The successful candidate will co-ordinate and lead design and development projects concerned with foundation brake components and assemblies that meet both performance and production efficiency criteria, whilst undertaking regular liaison with the manufacturing team to ensure timely introduction of new components.

With an exhaustive product range that includes brake calipers, discs and pads; a new range of racing clutches embracing both carbon/carbon and metallic types and ancillaries such as master cylinders, slave cylinders and pedal assemblies, the company are QS9000 approved and supply to companies throughout the world for applications ranging from Formula 1 to armoured limousines for Heads of State, in addition to supplying many of the major automotive manufacturers and performance car builders for high performance requirements.

To be considered for this highly rewarding and challenging post, you will ideally demonstrate experience of brake components and assemblies design, although consideration will also be given to design engineers with experience of mechanical components and who can demonstrate considerable experience of CAD and FEA software. You will ideally be qualified to degree level or above in mechanical or automotive engineering although candidates with HND qualification or above with proven relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
