Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer – West Midlands to £35k

Our client is renowned globally as the market leader in materials handling allied to the hazardous materials sector, providing bespoke solutions from concept design through to manufacture and simulated operation prior to delivery, installation and commissioning within customers' facilities worldwide.
As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to compliment their existing team.
Possessing a relevant qualification, the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 3 years experience in the use of Pro Engineer (Wildfire 3) and be skilled in the manipulation of large assemblies, advanced assembly techniques and the design of high integrity handling equipment. Additionally, experience of mechanism design or machine tool design would be distinctly advantageous, as would some Nuclear or safety related design experience gained within a comparable environment.

With proven communication skills with both colleagues and clients, you will be working as part of a team complying with stringent British and European Technical and Legislative standards, and you will therefore be conversant with design review processes and in the production of design scoping calculations, and familiarity with machining and manufacturing techniques including welded fabrications will be distinctly advantageous.
