Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Role:

An exciting opportunity to be a key member of a small design team developing the next generation of control sections for a guided weapon application.


Responsibility:

The successful applicant will liaise with the organisation and its overseas counterparts, on technical matters, in order to transfer design back to the UK. You will have responsibility for ensuring that the performance, reliability and cost targets are achieved / maintained through the design and manufacturing cycles.


Qualifications / Experience

* Experience of Design for Manufacture and Design to Cost
* Extensive experience of designing mechanisms including gears, bearings, slide screws
* Degree qualified in a Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical or Mechatronic subject
* 3D CAD literate (Pro –E, Catia, Solid Works or Solid Edge would be an advantage)
* Candidates must be willing to travel overseas
