Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

A challenging opportunity for a Degree qualified Mechanical Design Engineer with a thriving company in South Wales developing precision electro-mechanical instrumentation for the oil and gas industry.

The ideal applicant will be proficient in 3D solid modelling using Pro-Engineer and AutoCAD and have a good appreciation of Finite Element Analysis and mechanism modelling.

Applications are sought from talented individuals with enquiring minds and the ability to communicate well at all levels and work well within a close-knit team environment.

Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes would be highly advantageous as would previous experience of designing small mechanisms and precision components for an aerospace, oil-field or medical industry with a focus on attention to detail and safety critical awareness.

Key Skills Sought:
Good Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electro-Mechanical Engineering discipline.
Good 3D CAD skills.
Pro-Engineer.
AutoCAD.
FEA Stress Analysis experience.
Mechanism and/or small component design.
Background in Oil & Gas, Aerospace or Medical.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and engineering materials.
