Since 1950, the Atomic Weapons Establishment has been central to the defence of the United Kingdom – providing and maintaining the warheads for the country’s nuclear deterrent. As one of the nation’s largest high-tech research, development and production facilities, we house some of the world’s most advanced experimental facilities and one of the largest supercomputers in existence.

The scale and scope of our work calls for expertise in practically every area of science and engineering, as well as areas like facilities management, procurement, safety & quality and the environment. But our craftspeople and front line workers have an equally important role to play. As do those in business and administration.
