ABB Limited has released a spot-welding robot capable of being inverted, floor mounted, tilted or shelf-mounted. Its compact design makes it ideal for use in confined areas and as part of manufacturing cells alongside other robots.
Key to the IRB6620’s size, speed and flexibility is the removal of the balancing cylinder. Weighing just 900 kilos, the IRB6620 offers simplified installation, with no need for heavy-lifting cranes.
As the IRB 6620 can be inverted, it can be used for other applications such as sand core handling and cutting. It is also suitable for mounting on top of a machine, such as in assembly, materials handling and machine-tending applications.
