Apple iPad 'infringes on copyright'

Nokia has filed a complaint against Apple, alleging that Apple iPhone and iPad 3G products infringe five of its patents.
It filed the complaints at the Federal District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin.
The patents in question relate to technologies for enhanced speech and data transmission, using positioning data in applications and innovations in antenna configurations that improve performance and save space, allowing smaller and more compact devices.
The news comes just weeks after another Apple competitor — Elan Microelectronics — filed a complaint at the US International Trade Commission (ITC) against Apple, to enforce its own patent rights.
In that complaint, Elan asked the ITC to issue a permanent exclusion order barring the importation of iPhone, iPod Touch, MacBook and Magic Mouse products into the US, as well as a cease-and-desist order barring Apple from selling any of these products that had already been imported.
Earlier this month, Apple announced it had sold one million iPads just 28 days after the product’s introduction.
