Government publishes hybrid Bill for HS2

The government has taken another step toward HS2 with the publication of a Bill for phase one of the high-speed rail project, which will run between London and Birmingham.

The hybrid Bill will give the government the powers to construct and operate the railway. It will also give those affected by the proposed line the opportunity to petition Parliament and have their case heard by MPs.
