Despite winning the `Best Innovation' award at the PackAge Business Convention, industry has been slow on the uptake of an innovative snap-shut closure which could be used to hold anything from hand cream to pate. Plasgen Design's `easy open' closure features a series of bumps on the inside of the lid which clip over a continous ridge on the outside of the container. To open the container, one simply squeezes the lid and it pops off, dispensing with the need to use two hands, and therefore ideal for products like nappy rash creams where the mother has a baby in one arm.
