Carillion and Telent to support BT

The Carillion-Telent joint venture has signed a letter of intent to work on a £1bn support services contract with Openreach, BT’s local access network business.

 

 

The agreement will see Carillion and Telent, a Warwick-based provider of communications links for the emergency services, deliver support and network installation services throughout Openreach’s five regions, consisting of: London and its home counties; the south east; the Midlands; Wales and the west; and the north and Scotland.

 

John McDonough, Carillion chief executive, said: ‘This further reinforces Carillion’s position as a leading supplier of support services for infrastructure and buildings. Carillion already has a strong relationship with BT, for whom we have provided integrated facilities management services for BT’s UK estate since 2001.

 

‘The Carillion-Telent joint venture has outstanding skills and resources and we look forward to working with Openreach to support them in delivering a first-class service to their customers,’ he added.

 

The contract is expected to be agreed and signed within the next two months, during which time transition arrangements will also be agreed.
