Coker heater contract

Foster Wheeler Iberia has been awarded a contract by BP for the thermal design, engineering, procurement and supply of a 43.5MW megawatt double-fired Terrace-wall delayed coker heater.

Foster Wheeler Iberia has been awarded a contract by BP Oil Refineria de Castellon for the thermal design, engineering, procurement and material supply of a 43.5MW double-fired Terrace-wall delayed coker heater.

The heater will be installed at a new delayed coker to be built at BP's Castellon Refinery in Spain. The terms of the award were not disclosed.

The Foster Wheeler Terrace-wall delayed coker heater is an integral component of the Foster Wheeler Selective Yield Delayed Coking (SYDEC) process technology, which was selected by BP for the new coker.

Foster Wheeler completed the process design package and front-end engineering design for the new coker, and has also been awarded the detailed engineering, procurement and construction supervision for the new coker under a separately announced contract.

‘Since 1965, Foster Wheeler Iberia has designed and supplied eleven heaters for the BP Castellon Refinery and has been involved in many of the major projects carried out in this refinery,’ commented Jesus Cadenas, managing director, Foster Wheeler Iberia.
