EADS joins Tata for army bid

EADS Defence and Security (EADS DS) and Tata Advanced Systems have formed a team to bid for the Indian Army’s $1bn advanced tactical communications system project.
The proposed fully mobile communications system is intended to replace the army’s current army radio engineering network (AREN) system. Other members of the team include Raytheon and Precision Electronics.
As the lead on the programme, Tata Advanced Systems will be responsible for project management, security, software development, production, integration and delivery. EADS DS will be in charge of system design and network architectural design and integration, while Raytheon will be responsible for radio systems design and Precision Electronics will support production, security and integration.
DS is a systems solutions provider that combines military air systems, missile systems, communications and intelligence systems, global security solutions, sensor and avionics systems, with test and support solutions.
