Enabling Enfield exploration

Woodside Energy has awarded Paris-based Technip a contract to work on the Enfield oil development off the coast of Western Australia at a water depth of 550m.

Work under the contract includes the recovery of an existing spool (a short length pipe connecting a pipe and a subsea structure) and the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of a new spool with its installation cradle and associated umbilical (an assembly of hydraulic hoses).

Technip Subsea 7 Asia Pacific (TS7), a joint venture between Technip and Subsea 7 for offshore operations in the Asia Pacific region, will also support the project work. One of TS7’s construction vessels, Rockwater 2, will carry out offshore installation.

The Enfield site contains reserves of more than 125 million barrels of oil.
