Fish package sell off

The Australian packaging outfit Amcor is to sell its flexibles packaging plants in Lund in Sweden and in Somerset in the UK to Accent Equity 2008, a Swedish private equity group.
The plants are primarily involved in the production of unprinted films for the meat and fish market and have combined sales of approximately €85m.
The divestments are part of the company's previously announced programme to rationalise and restructure its flexibles operations in Western Europe.
Earlier this month, the company announced that it was to invest €25m to build a new state-of the-art packaging plant located in the Lodz Special Economic Zone in Lodz, Poland.
An existing flexibles factory, AF Polska which is currently based in the town of Lodz itself, will be relocated to the new greenfield site. In addition, the company will install two new production lines.
