Fisher Rosemount seeks strategic software alliance

Fisher-Rosemount has agreed a strategic alliance with PSDI, a supply chain solutions provider, with a view to deliver enhanced process automation benefits.

Fisher-Rosemount has agreed a strategic alliance with PSDI, a supply chain solutions provider, with a view to deliver enhanced process automation benefits to industrial users.

PSDI trades as MRO Software and writes specialist packages designed to organise the supply of maintenance, repair and operations materials.

The first application of the alliance will be a dynamic link between Fisher-Rosemount's Asset Management Solutions (AMS) software and MRO Software's Maximo package, which will allow the automatic transfer of equipment condition information. AMS monitors valve, equipment and instrument health. Should a problem be diagnosed, the software will notify Maximo, which will use the parameters provided directly from the field devices to schedule any work needed automatically.

Other information, such as equipment name, urgency of the problem, calibration information and recommendations for repair are also sent to Maximo to support maintenance planning.

Andrew Moore, vice president of alliances and business development worldwide for MRO Software expects that the alliance will deliver significant return on investment through improved maintenance analysis, which will extend equipment lifecycle.
