Human Transporter comes to the UK

BAE Systems and Segway have formed a partnership to market the Segway Human Transporter to the aerospace and defence industry in the UK.
Dean Kamen, Chairman of Segway and BAE Systems Chief Operating Officer Chris Geoghegan announced the partnership at the UK Farnborough Airshow.
BAE Systems and Segway will initially market the Transporter to the aerospace and defence industry in the UK. The device is currently being deployed by US companies and organisations, including numerous industrial concerns, the US Postal Service and various emergency medical and law enforcement groups. Various US Military branches are also currently evaluating Segway HT for both tactical and logistical support operations.
The agreement shouldn't come as a big surprise. The Segway Transporter uses a Balance Sensor Assembly of five gyroscope sensors and two tilt sensors developed by engineers at Silicon Sensing Systems (SSS), who worked with Segway to develop the Balance Sensor Assembly that enables the device to balance.
SSS itself is a joint venture between BAE Systems and Sumitomo Precision Products of Japan.
