MRAP modifications for BAE

The US mine resistant ambush protected (MRAP) Joint Program Office has awarded BAE Systems two contract modifications worth $21.3m for RG33 MRAP vehicles.

Under the first, $10.3m modification, BAE Systems will provide training, documentation and technical support for the vehicles. It will provide spare parts for the RG 33 MRAP vehicles as part of the second modification, worth $11m.

With these modifications, the total value of the contracts BAE Systems has been awarded for the MRAP RG33 programme has reached $1.3bn.

Work on the contracts started last month and will continue until January 2009.
