Online exchange for electricity

The Power Exchange, an online exchange that will enable UK firms to trade in electricity like any other commodity, began operation this week. It is being operated by Sweden-based OM Group, and is a key feature of the new electricity trading arrangements which will replace the existing pool-based system at the end of October.
