If you’re involved in an innovative engineering collaboration we’d love to hear from you.

Collaboration, whether it’s between large or small businesses; academic research groups; or any combination of the above, is frequently at the heart of some of our most exciting technology breakthroughs and inspiring engineering achievements.

Diamond collaboration
Collaboration is at the heart of many engineering projects, such as this one at Diamond Light Source

By working together engineers are able to share ideas and expertise, identify new opportunities and develop the technological solutions to some of society’s most pressing issues. What’s more, encouraging and fostering the ideal conditions for collaboration is widely viewed as a priority if we’re going to meet the challenges that lie ahead and grow the UK engineering economy. With this is mind, we’re delighted to announce the launch of Collaborate to Innovate: a new awards initiative aimed at uncovering and celebrating some of the UK’s most impressive engineering collaborations.

With the help of one of our key partners, the EPSRC – the UK's main agency for funding research in engineering and the physical sciences - we’ve drawn up a list of categories that touch on some of society’s biggest challenges, and we can’t wait to hear about how you’re helping to address these.

To make the shortlist, projects must be innovative, collaborative, and - in the estimation of our soon-to-be-announced expert judging panel – have a high likelihood of success. Winners will be revealed at summer party in central London on the 19th July. The campaign will culminate on November 17th at the  Lloyds Bank Advanced Manufacturing training centre (AMTC) in Coventry, where the winners will present their projects and delegates will gain first-hand insight into how the best engineering collaborations are instigated and managed.

You can find out more about C2I and how to enter here.

The deadline for entries is Tuesday 31st May 2016.
