Bluewater supplies HYBACS treatment process

Wastewater treatment company Bluewater Bio has announced the first sales of its HYBACS process in South Africa to the Botleng Sewage Treatment Plant, as the result of a deal with Headstream Water Holdings.

The company’s Hybrid Bacillus Activated Sludge, or HYBACS, process will be deployed and two of its Shaft Mounted Advanced Reactor Technology (SMART) units, which drive the process, will be installed.

The Botleng plant extension has been designed to treat 7,000m3 a day, with the first phase extension being 3,500m3 a day and the second phase to complete the extension expected to follow once the municipality has secured the required budget.
