MG Stuma increases injection-moulding productivity

Bolton-based MG Stuma has recently invested £80,000 in a new injection-moulding machine to increase production levels, on top of more than £50,000 invested in a system to improve production planning and efficiencies in plant utilisation.

The BarcoVision PlantMaster system monitors production in real time and enables the team to service customers better with more accurate lead times and improved production planning.

All MG Stuma’s 35 injection-moulding machines are now being monitored wirelessly by the new system, which gives instant updates on parts produced, waste and rework, downtime incurred, production times and machine speeds.

This creates a detailed analysis of everything that is happening from an availability, performance and quality perspective.
