Back on track: Electric motorcycles race for innovation

Hi there all, as a biker and a vast interest in renewable energy I am wondering if there would be a good use for the drive train from the electric bike (that I two would love to ride) in to a larger bike with a small petrol/diesel or hydrogen power system to recharge the batterys or run the motors them self? There has been a very good development in the bike and if this was used with a engine how would the distance covered compare?
