Regarding the quality of Engineers, it is clear that some of the newer courses in engineering with more bespoke titles have a reduced maths content for some more 'essay' based units. Universities 'know' what are harder A Level subjects, such as Maths and Science, and the smart schools know this, but the broader mass still go for the easy options and easy grades. Maybe something needs doing with grade/ difficulty parity or would that reduce the ever escalating grades that show how much cleverer we are getting!!!!
