Report says UK needs clearer long-term nuclear strategy

Comment

UK Needs to... 1. Find a permanent waste depository, this would lower operating costs whilst potentially enable foreign revenue. Cornwall would be the best location geographically (the rock is several hundred million years old) so local objections simply need to be over ruled by parliament. 2. Recycle its existing plutonium stockpile of some 102 tones. Large amounts of DU exist and I would rather see them make electricity, than be in weapons. 3. Provide the cheapest green electricity in Europe, make tax on export, and claim German industrial jobs in the process. 4. Start a new advertising campaign debunking misconceptions. E.g. explain how nuclear has killed less than hydroelectric, whilst generating more, all with much less wildlife impact. We have one of the worlds least opposed to nuclear populations, this offers us a vast economic advantage.
