Not a time to look back to the past but on to the future. Wouldn't it be better to bore HS2 all the way to Birmingham and build it as a vactrain/Maglev with virtually no planning issues, no nimby Tory MPs and no compulsory purchase of land and then extend it to TEA, and actually I think Goodwin 10km from Deal is better than what's proposed. After all TEA has a maglev proposal.
