Headline

New report recommends the continuation of fracking in UK

Comment

"British earthquakes of magnitude 3 have been generated for decades as a result of coal mining". In no way Caudrilla does this statement give the green light to Fracking. Coal mining does not depend on forcing chemicals deep underground to pollute the water supply. The earthquakes directly caused by Fracking in the Blackpool area occurred in an area not known for seismic problems! Caudrilla admits that earthquakes will continue saying that "they are not likely to cause any "significant" damage. As a friend wrote to me "I suppose we are expected to swallow that mollification ..along with the chemicals they intend to force down there too.. with NO POSSIBLE WAY to control which rivers/aquifers they get to when they migrate along fault lines. Good point Vanessa
