SeaEnergy secures funds for offshore wind farm support

SeaEnergy has secured further funding support totalling £88,510 from Scottish Enterprise to advance its plans to establish an offshore wind farm support business.
The funding, which will supplement investment by the company of £345,190, will enable SeaEnergy to undertake detailed design and tank testing for its X-Bow based vessel system.
SeaEnergy, an energy ventures company focused on oil and gas and renewables businesses, said it has worked closely with Scottish Enterprise over the past year-and-a-half to help deliver its growth plans.
According to a statement, this latest support is in addition to grants awarded in May 2010 from Scottish Enterprise Innovation Support Scheme, which have been received over the past year-and-a-half.
Steve Remp, SeaEnergy’s chairman, said: ‘These grants have helped to de-risk investment, drive development and allowed us to pursue near-term commercial opportunities for our vessel system.’
SeaEnergy believes X-Bow vessels will provide greater levels of access and cost efficiencies to offshore wind turbine developers and operators than are currently available.
