FEMA awards Qinetiq asset-tracking services contract

Qinetiq North America has announced an award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on a contract option worth up to $15.6m (£9.6m) to provide asset-tracking services.

Under FEMA’s Total Asset Visibility programme, Qinetiq North America will provide continued integration with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) and FEMA’s technical architecture, as well as surge capabilities for disaster operations.

Additionally, Qinetiq North America will provide asset-tracking devices and supplemental equipment; GPS messaging services to locate tagged-assets or shipments; secure sharing of data-feeds and messaging; technical support for ongoing operations and maintenance; and surge capabilities for disaster operations.
