Analog Devices’ ADXL203 and ADXL103 are complete single-chip dual and single axis accelerometers with signal conditioned voltage outputs.
The ADXL203/103 have a range of ±1.7 g (typical), and can measure both static and dynamic acceleration (i.e. inclination and vibration). The outputs are analog voltages proportional to acceleration with a nominal scale factor of 1 V/g.
The typical noise floor is 150 mg/rt-Hz, allowing signals below 1 mg (0.06 degrees of inclination) to be resolved in tilt sensing applications using narrow bandwidths (<10 Hz). Bandwidths of 1 Hz to 2 kHz may be selected to suit the application.
The ADXL203 and ADXL103 are available in 5 mm x 5 mm x 2 mm 8-pad hermetic LCC packages, and are priced at $7.50 and $4.95, respectively, in quantities of 10,000 units.
The products are now sampling and will be available in volume production in third quarter 2003.
