Acquisition improves GE’s image sense

GE Industrial Systems announced yesterday that it has acquired the assets of Taiwan-based Kampro Technology, Inc, developers and manufacturers of high-performance image sensing technologies. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to GE, Kampro Technology’s product portfolio includes a full range of advanced high-performance image sensing products that feature ultra-low light, ultra-high sensitive, high-resolution, harsh-environment technologies in monochrome and colour.

As part of GE, the high-tech image sensing business will have access to advanced technologies for continued development of some of the widest dynamic range image sensing technologies that are able to display details in ultra-low and very bright light conditions.

‘GE is very excited to include some of the world’s most advanced, high-performance image sensing technologies as part of our integrated offering of security products,’ said Lloyd Trotter, president and CEO, GE Industrial Systems.

Kampro, Inc will become a subsidiary of General Electric International, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Electric Company, and will report to GE’s security business, GE Interlogix.
