Alcon Components has placed an order for a 25-user Made2Manage (M2M) enterprise business system from IT solutions provider, 4Front Software, valued in the region of £125,000. The M2Msystem will be implemented over a virtual private network and will deliver advanced planning and scheduling capabilities to drive Alcon’s business operations in the UK, France, Germany and the USA.
Alistair Fergusson, managing director of Alcon Components, commented: ‘Made2Manage will enable us to add significantly to the bottom line and we anticipate annual cost savings of at least £40,000, with even greater productivity gains predicted.
In addition to the core M2M enterprise business solution software, Alcon will be using the Advanced Production Scheduling (APS) module to enable fully automated medium to long term planning and scheduling procedures throughout the company. Fergusson explained: ‘This will reduce the administration burden and support critical strategic decision making throughout the company.’
As part of its agreement with 4Front software, Alcon will be following the Time2Value implementation programme and will be fully operational within three months from the point of order. Time2Value is a new initiative designed to provide a blueprint which will shorten the time taken by a company to achieve a return on its investment, maximising the company’s overall performance through increased levels of productivity and profitability.
4Front Software will be responsible for the IT systems and applications consulting and support as Alcon rolls out M2M.
