Allan McArtor – currently chairman of Airbus Americas – ha become Chairman and CEO of Airbus Group, following the resignation of Sean O’Keefe who has elected to step down in order to address injuries sustained in a 2010 aircraft accident.
McArtor is a recognized leader in the U.S. aerospace and defence industry. Prior to joining Airbus in 2001, he held a number of senior positions in both industry and government. He previously served as head of the Federal Aviation Administration, founder and CEO of Legend Airlines and a senior member of the Federal Express Company (FedEx) leadership team. He is also a decorated combat fighter pilot and former member of the Thunderbirds flight demonstration team.
