Anderson Precision Gearing, part of the Pailton Engineering Group based in Coventry, has been awarded a manufacturing contract for suspension tubes that will help extend the life of the Piccadilly Line fleet of
motorised underground rail cars.
Running throughout 2012 and into 2013, the contract will help keep the existing fleet running up to 2022.
The contract is the largest ever in the Scottish company’s history and marks the end of a successful three months in which APG has received orders totalling more than £1.3m from a range of customers.
Areas that saw particular activity and growth included heavy automotive, mining, oil and gas, specialist engineered components and rail.
