Australian engineers are set to benefit from the Defence Evaluation & Research Agency’s (Dera) advanced test facilities, such as the towing tank (left) at Haslar, near Portsmouth, following an agreement with AMOG, the Australian Marine & Offshore Group. The 270m hydrodynamic test facility will help the Melbourne-based offshore company predict the behaviour of new ships, drill rigs, pipelines, and submarines. Dera is aiming for the Australian offshore market.
