BAE Systems has been awarded an $18.6 million contract by the US Navy to support a broad range of fuel facility automation projects for the Department of Defense and other agencies.
The total value of the contract could reach $49.9 million, if all options are exercised. The contracting agency is the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston, South Carolina.
Under the contract, the company’s Electronic Systems business unit will provide services and supplies to support automated fuel handling equipment and fuel-related systems for Defense Fuel Support Center storage terminals and base-level fuelling facilities worldwide.
BAE Systems personnel based in Charleston will perform facility assessments, preliminary system engineering plans, final system designs, system documentation, material and equipment procurement, installation, start-up, and commissioning, personnel training and follow-on maintenance.
Projects will be installed at various locations throughout the continental US, the Pacific Rim and in Europe.
