The Lin+Drive compact control module from Baldor provides a user-friendly solution for linear module applications.
This is a single-axis brushless servo motor amplifier with built-in positioning software for point-to-point moves and motion profiles. Instead of being an angular unit for rotary motors, it has motion control firmware optimised for linearly-spaced poles. It is available in versions from 5 to 30A peak output, for wall- or panel-mounting.
The drive is set up through Microsoft Windows and comes with memory for storing 15 absolute or relative moves, which can be initiated using switches, or continuous commands via the built-in serial port/multi-drop interface. The drive also features PLC-style functionality, allowing users to construct simple tables of events, using motion events and/or on-board inputs to trigger outputs.
