Baumer makes sense of colour discrimination

With a single touch of a button, Baumer’s new Colour Sensor can teach itself four colours. Each colour’s tolerances can be set up separately.

A visible spot helps in aligning the sensor, simplifying installation. Baumer says the sensor operates reliably even when artificial or fluctuating lighting falsify the colours, and at high speeds, with response time being 300 micro seconds.

Sensing distance is 40mm, and colour recognition can be triggered externally. The sensor is sealed to IP67.
