Beesley wins expansion grant

Leicester precision engineering specialist H Beesley has been given a £125,000 grant to support a major expansion programme.

The company secured the cash from the East Midlands Development Agency (Emda) under its Selective Finance for Investment scheme.

The money will form part of a £1.6m investment by H Beesley, which supplies precision machined components to industries including power, nuclear and aerospace.

The expansion programme includes a new site at Freeman’s Common in Leicester, not far from its existing headquarters in the city.

The company said the extra facility will help it undertake larger projects for its customers base, which includes the likes of Siemens and Rolls-Royce.

It will also create 29 jobs in addition to the 83 staff already employed.

Emda said further SIF grants are available to eligible businesses. Applications should show how companies will use the money to boost productivity and skills, help product development or reach new markets.
