BIS exhibition will promote UK low-carbon products

UK-manufactured low-carbon products that are exported worldwide are being showcased as part of an exhibition at the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS).

The exhibition aims to encourage more companies into this growing market, business minster Mark Prisk announced today.

With the global market for low-carbon goods and services projected to rise to more than £4tn by the middle of the next decade, BIS wants to work with the manufacturing industry to attract new businesses to the sector and encourage them to start exporting.

The government is committed to promoting all manufacturing as it is critical to economic growth, with responsibility for 53 per cent of UK exports and 2.8 million jobs.

The low-carbon exhibition is the second in a planned rolling programme of themed displays demonstrating excellence in British design, engineering and manufacturing.

Exhibits have been provided by Intelligent Energy, Flow Control, Tata Steel, Pod Point and Dudson.
