BOC Edwards has been awarded a contract to provide total gas and chemical management (TGCM) site services for a major Taiwan semiconductor chip manufacturer. Financial details have not been disclosed.
The contract will be carried out at multiple fab locations by a team of gas and chemical operations specialists from BOC Edwards and BOC Lienhwa Industrial Gases Company, a joint venture owned by Taiwan’s Lienhwa Industrial Group and BOC.
The chemical management services to be provided under the terms of this contract include high-purity chemical and slurry analysis, system operation, drum changes, data collection and recording through statistical process control (SPC) techniques, and preventative maintenance, as well as operation of waste collection systems.
The scope of gas management services includes system operation, troubleshooting and maintenance, supply chain management, monitoring, inventory management and emergency response team support.
‘A site service of this type is preferred by our customers because it allows them to reallocate existing resources to other areas and focus on their core competencies,’ commented Neels Kriek, managing director of materials and services for BOC Edwards.
