Boeing has announced that it has finalised a firm order from Midwest Express Airlines for 25 Boeing 717-200 aeroplanes, powered by Rolls Royce BR715 engines, with options for an additional 25.

According to Boeing, the estimated list value of the firm order for 25 717s is $940 million, with monthly deliveries scheduled to begin in February 2003 and continue into 2005.

The order is said to represent an increase of five firm aircraft, for which the engine business is worth an estimated $40 million, over last year’s initial announcement by Rolls Royce for 20 firm and 30 option aircraft.

Total firm orders for the Boeing 717 number 162, including this new order.
