Bombardier Transportation has been awarded a contract by the Japanese trading house Mitsui & Co. to install the first modern signalling system in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The order, which will be supplied to Uzbekistan Railway company Uzbekistan Temir Yollari, will be delivered by a consortium led by Bombardier with Belam Riga – a Nortel Gold Solutions partner in the CIS and the Baltics – as the junior partner providing telecommunications and installations works.
The total contract value is approximately €29m, of which Bombardier’s share is approximately €14m.
