Bombardier do the locomotion

Bombardier Transportation has won a €225m order from European leasing company Angel Trains.

Bombardier Transportation has won a €225m order including options from London-based leasing company Angel Trains for a combination of 60 TRAXX AC, DC and MS locomotives.

The new electric locomotives will run in cross-border traffic on different European routes including those between Austria and Hungary and Sweden and Norway.

According to Bombardier, modular construction allows the locomotives to be easily adapted to the areas of use and their infrastructure.

Final production of the multi-system and AC locomotives will take place in Bombardier’s Kassel plant, with the DC locomotives being assembled in the Italian plant at Vado Ligure. Bodyshells will be produced at Bombardier’s Wroclaw site in Poland, bogies in Siegen, and propulsion and control systems, based on Bombardier Mitrac technology, in Mannheim.
