British Airways chooses Ariba

British Airways has selected Ariba Spend Management to help cut costs and improve its bottom line.

The use of Ariba Spend Management is designed to help British Airways deliver on its pledge to reduce cumulative running costs by £300 million by 2005 through enabling the company to more effectively and efficiently manage its procurement, sourcing and contract compliance processes.

To help achieve these objectives, British Airways will be using Ariba Enterprise Sourcing, Ariba Contracts, Ariba Category Management and Ariba Analysis, all components of the Ariba Spend Management software. This is in addition to the Ariba Buyer application which British Airways has used since 2001.

British Airways intends to use Ariba Category Management to better automate its business processes improving process compliance and increasing productivity in its category procurement teams.
