US-based Esterline Technologies is to acquire the UK-based Weston Group from Roxboro.

The Weston Group itself comprises Weston Aerospace (Farnborough and Enfield, UK), Norwich Aero Products (Norwich, NY) and Pressure Systems (Hampton, VA).

Esterline plans to finance the $88 million acquisition with debt financing.

Weston is a supplier of sensors for large thrust jet engines, while Esterline has a similar product line that targets the medium thrust jet engine market.

Esterline supplies aircraft engine temperature and pressure sensors to continental European customers including CFM International, a Snecma/GE joint venture that produces the engine family used on all Boeing 737s and more than 40% of all Airbus planes.

For its part, Weston supplies temperature, fuel density and speed sensors to UK-based Rolls Royce.
