Cadtek sets new standard in ECAD pricing

The E3 Series of electrical CAD (ECAD) software products has recently been announced by German electrical design specialist, CIM-Team. With modules starting at just £1,250, E3 Series is produced by and distributed in the UK by Cadtek.

E3 Series (Electrical and Electronic Engineering for Professionals) comprises design tools which support the different disciplines in electrical and engineering in the mechanical, plant and automotive industries. E3 Series modules include tools for conventional electrical engineering, for development and structuring of cables and cable harnesses.

Although E3 Series draws on the power of established CIM-Team products, such as DDS-C, the object-based electrical schematic design solution, E3 Series has been written from scratch as a new true Windows product suite. It combines object-based functionality with efficient use of the familiar operating system to give consistent and logical ease of operation across the different electrical applications.

Pricing will start at just £1,250 for E3 Schema, the entry-level electrical schematic design module. E3 Schema will offer fully functioned object based schematic design – including terminal block layout – for projects of up to 20 sheets. The entry-level cable design module, E3 Cable, goes on sale for the same price. For unlimited schematic or cable design, the price rises to £4,250, and there are a number of attractive upgrade and floating license options, thus ensuring maximum scalability.

“Many electrical engineering companies will never encounter a project that requires more than 20 sheets of design,” says Allan. “We can now fulfill all cabling and schematic engineering needs for these companies for as little as £1,250, a fraction of the current going rate. And I am confident that those who need multi-user and bigger project capacity will struggle to find a better deal.”
