Call of duty for Amec

Fairfield Energy has awarded Amec a contract to be the duty holder on the Dunlin cluster of North Sea oilfield production facilities northeast of the Shetland Isles. The value of the contract has not been announced.

The contract will run for the life of the field, which is estimated to be between 10 and 15 years.

The facilities in the cluster, which covers the Dunlin and Dunlin Southwest fields together with the Merlin and Osprey fields, include the Dunlin A platform and subsea infrastructure for the Dunlin Southwest, Merlin and Osprey fields.

As duty holder Amec will manage offshore production operations, which includes safety, health and environmental regulatory compliance. Amec will take over the role from Shell, the previous operator, in the next few weeks.
