The Carbon Trust has announced the availability of funding of bands of to £30,000 or £140,000 for trade organisations wishing to undertake carbon reduction projects.
To apply for the Networks Initiative funding, applicants have to produce a detailed plan outlining how their initiative will deliver demonstrable carbon dioxide emissions savings cost-effectively, by 9 January 2008.
The funding also supports the development of specific technical guidance and toolkits, designed to help industries manage their carbon reduction methods and overall energy use more effectively.

Since the launch of the Networks Initiative in 2005, the Carbon Trust has provided £2.5m of funding to support 41 different projects. It says that this has resulted in savings of 200,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide over the past two years.
