Celestica Inc, a world leader in electronics manufacturing services, announced yesterday January 10, 2001 that it has consolidated its design services groups to form a Global Design Operation.
The new design operation, led by Jenny Ryan, vice president, Global Design, is said to enhance Celestica’s ability to deliver its customers’ products to market more quickly and will strengthen the company’s focus on technologies such as optical networking, wireless and embedded computing.
Design facilities in Cananda, Italy, Britain and the USA form the foundation of Celestica’s Global Design Operation.
From these facilities, Celestica will offer its design services on a global basis. The new group will, according to a statement from Celestica, provide services such as electrical circuit design, ASIC design, power system design, software and firmware development, system design and packaging, thermal management, design verification testing, safety and regulatory qualification and new product introductions.
‘Celestica’s Global Design Operation consolidates our technology and engineering strength to give our customers a competitive advantage in their marketplace through improved performance, quality and time-to-market,’ said Ryan, who has more than 25 years of technology experience.
‘The new Global Design Operation demonstrates Celestica’s commitment to a customer-focused approach,’ said Dan Shea, senior vice president and chief technology officer, Celestica. ‘Jenny Ryan’s extensive industry expertise will be invaluable to our design efforts worldwide as Celestica strives to operate as a seamless extension of our customers’ operations.’
